LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq on Monday strongly condemned attacks on media houses in Karachi by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers.
Sirajul Haq in his latest statement said that terrorism activities of the political party were still continued across the metropolis. He said the recent terror attacks raised several question over the Karachi Operation.
He said the government has failed to establish peace in the city while he termed attack on media houses as attack on freedom of journalism.
The JI Ameer urged the government to immediately make moves to ensure safety of journalists and citizens. Sirajul Haq expressed deep sorrow with wounded journalists and locals in the incident.
Earlier, Outrageous Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had attacked Ary News and Neo TV offices in Madina Mall of Karachi on Monday.
MQM workers once again attacked media houses in the metropolis after concluding Hunger Strike organised before Karachi Press Club (KPC).
At least six persons were reportedly wounded by firing and stoning by the MQM protestors while two motorcycles and a police van were torched at the spot. A large numbers of locals were still stranded in the nearby shopping plazas due to the deteriorated situation.
