Rangers powers: Interior Ministry denies rejecting Sindh govt’s summary

The Interior Ministry has denied the reports of rejection of summary forwarded by government of Sindh on Rangers stay and policing powers issue.

Legal experts have pointed out contradictions in the summary however, the Interior Minister would take a decision in the issue today (Wednesday), spokesperson for the ministry said.

He said criticism by Pakistan People’s Party regarding Rangers special powers was above comprehension.

Rangers stayed in Sindh for two weeks despite expiration of powers but neither the party leadership nor the provincial government criticize the act however, now when the issue is about to be resolved, hurdles are being created.

Experts are reviewing the summary sent by the provincial government and no statement in this regard has been issued yet.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will clear federation’s stance today, spokesperson said.
