MUZAFFARABAD: Raja Farooq Haider Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been elected as new Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Voting for election of new Leader of the House held in Muzaffarabad today. Raja Farooq Haider Khan secured 38 votes while a joint candidate of Muslim Conference and PTI Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dewan and Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen of Pakistan Peoples’ Party bagged five votes each.
Oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minster would be held in Muzaffarabad today afternoon. AJK President will administer oath to the new Prime Minster of the state.
Shah Ghulam Qadir and Sardar Farooq Tahir of Pakistan Muslim League-N have already been elected Speaker and Desputy Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly.
