Sirajul Haq urges government to provide justice to affectees of May 12

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq said that Federal and provincial governments liable to provide justice to the affectees of May 12 massacre in Karachi.

While talking to media outside the Parliament House , Siajul Haq said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Waseem Akhtar’s revelations were very important in the case. He said May 12 was one of the blackest day in the history of Pakistan when 50 people were gunned down and hundreds received bullet injuries. The JI leader continued that roads had been blocked with containers to stop then Supreme Court chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to enter in the metropolis Karachi.

Sirajul Haq said that killing of two security personnel in Karachi, a challenge for the government and security institutions. He said blood was being shed in the city of lights, Karachi for last three decades, thousands of innocent citizens were killed, more than 260 laborers burnt alive in Baldia factory fire over nonpayment of extortion and the city plunged into darkness but the governments and judiciary failed to protect people’s lives and assets. Haq said that target killers, extortionists and land encroachers remained unknown despite known in Karachi.

He said all the facts and figures about the mafia behind the crimes in the city were written in the JIT’s reports but no action had been taken against anyone. The JI leader demanded action against the culprits according to the justice. He said it was necessary to bring the killers of two security personnel to the justice for restoring peace in Karachi.

Sirajul Haq also called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal  (JUI-F) Chief and Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in the Parliament House  and invited him in the All Parties Conference (APC) on Kashmir on July 29 in Islamabad.
