HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose finished the morning session on a high Monday, heading for a sixth-straight rally following another record close on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.17 percent, or 37.18 points, to 21,696.43 by the break. But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.11 percent, or 3.36 points, to 3,050.93 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, eased 0.17 percent, or 3.44 points, to 2,035.29.
