ISLAMABAD, July 15 (INP) Senior PPP leader and leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has alleged that the federal government is trying to snatch the PPP mandate in Azad Kashmir.

He warned that if any candidate was harmed, PML-N government would be held responsible. Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House on Friday, the opposition leader said that non registration of FIR for murder attack on Faisal Rathore was against the international law. He said that it was not appropriate on the Inspector General Police not to register FIR by coming under pressure.  He said the IGP has lost his right to remain at the post.

Syed Khursheed Shah said Kashmiris have played an important role in Pakistan Movement and they were being victimised on both sides of the Line of Control (LOC).

He said it that it was responsibility of the interior ministry to take action against those who displayed Army Chief’s posters and alleged that it appears that the Interior Ministry was involved in the campaign.

He said that after the Model Town killings, names of senior government functionaries were removed from the FIR while FIR was registered against late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto despite being Prime Minister of the country.

He appreciated the government’s decision of holding joint sitting of the parliament on Kashmir. He said Pakistan will have to seriously move ahead for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
