Court grants 14-day remand of Khalid Langove to NAB

Accountability Court on Friday extended Balochistan’s former finance adviser Khalid Langove’s remand by 14 more days in mega corruption case.

The ex-finance adviser was produced before Judge Abdul Majeed Nasir by National Accountability Bureau Balochistan.

Counsel for the defendant appealed the court to overrule NAB’s plea for extension in his client’s remand alleging that interrogation was being stretched unnecessarily.

Accountability department’s investigation officer presented a counter arguments stating that progress was being made during investigation as Langove has revealed another seven bank accounts.

Langove stated that he was satisfied with investigation officer’s way of interrogation and NAB’s proceedings.

Khaliqabad Administrator of Municipal Committee, Saleem Shah was also produced before the court in mega corruption case and remanded in NAB’s custody until July 14.

Raid on suspended finance secretary of Balochistan, Mushtaq Raisani’s house led to his arrest after Rs 630 million in cash was seized from the residence.

Arrests in different cities were made including that of a government contractor named Sohail Shah in Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority.

Shah’s remand was extended by the court 14 days on Thursday.
