Dissolution of CII will not be tolerated: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Ameer Liaqat Baloch said that Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) is a constitutional institute and its dissolution will not be tolerated.

While addressing to an Iftar party in Faisal Town, Lahore, Liaqat Baloch advised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government that it should not make decision on emotional grounds regarding Afghan refugees. He reiterated that an independent and fully authorized judicial commission should be formed to probe Panama revelations.

Baloch said that CII was not responsible for Senate Standing Committee decision about women beating. He said there were many factors behind women violence. Baloch said some forces wanted to dissolve the CII. He said CII was a constitutional institute and it cannot be dissolved.

The JI leader said CII needed reforms. He said CII was an institute to submit recommendations according to the Holy Quran and Sunnah for the constitution but the government had been putting a deaf ear to its recommendations.

He continued that the government and opposition were not sincere on Terms of References (ToRs) for the judicial commission to probe Panama papers. He said Nawas government did not want accountability that is why it prolonged the issue. Baloch said India creating uprising in Pakistan through Afghanistan. He asked Centre and all four provincial governments to make consensus on Afghan refugees issue.
