Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is set to file a reference on Monday, seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
As deadlock between the government and the opposition parties persists on the matter of terms of reference of inquiry commission to probe Panama Leaks, after Imran Khan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), PPP decided to move a reference against PM Nawaz who is in London after heart surgery.
The reference, which is likely to seek disqualifications of Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Ishaq Dar and Captain (retd) Safdar, would be filed by General Secretary of PPP Lateef Khosa.
It claimed that the prime minister showed wrong asset details of her wife and children, while he also misled Election Commission of Pakistan regarding his income tax returns.
A letter of the State Bank of Pakistan regarding bank default would also be made part of the reference. Khosa said that all evidence would be presented before the ECP.
