JI submits amendment bills in NA to make anti-corruption laws more effective: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami submitted amendment bills in the National Assembly to remove flaws in the anti-corruption laws so as to make it more effective and eliminate corruption in the country, said JI Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq.

While addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Sirajul Haq said JI suggested to amend National Accountability Ordinance 1999 act XVIII,  Pakistan Penal Code act 1860  and the Prevention Of Corruption Act 1947.

The JI leader said plunderers could not escape from accountability. He said only two percent elite had captured the rights of 98 percent people and five percent fuddle feudal occupied 65 percent agricultural land in the country.

Senator Sirajul Haq said that corruption had undermine Pakistan and important institutions were being privatized due to irregularities and  corruption. He said anti-corruption laws were ineffective to due to some flaws.

Haq said government taking loans from foreign banks to fulfill its lavishness. He said many companies on the pattern of East India Company emerged in the country and undermining Pakistan.

He demanded of the government to show sincerity on Terms of References (ToRs) for commission to probe Panama revelations. The JI leader said even National Accountability Bureau failed to eliminate corruption so their respective Member National Assembly (MNAs) Sahibzada Tariqullah, Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqoob, Shair Akbar Khan and Aisha Syed submitted amendment bill to remove the flaws in the laws and eliminate corruption in the country.
