Healthy nutritious ‘Iftar’ helps body necessary calories: Experts

ISLAMABAD: Expert advised a healthy and full of nutritious Iftar is must as it would provide body necessary calories. Iftar considered to be the most substantial meal to have for all day long.

Talking to APP, Dr.Arif Majeed advised, “Fruit Salad after breaking fast with dates and water, go for a fruit salad. There is a lot of energy in fruits. Digestive problems such as acidity can be overcome by eating lots of fruits.

Yogurt make any kind of yogurt salad, fruit yogurt or you can also simply add salt and pepper to yogurt. Eating yogurt would keep skin very healthy and beautiful. Yogurt is a good source of protein and calcium also it has lowest fats.” Things must add in iftar meal “grains such as barley, maize, oats etc to  meal.

Dates and Water are essential it is the Islamic way to break the fast with dates and water. Dates are rich in iron, calcium, sulfur, phosphorus, potassium etc. They are rich in calories as compare to any other fruit. Dates help in fighting fatigue. Due to fasting, one can get constipated. Date fruit is rich in fiber and helps in preventing any type of stomach problems. Water helps in keeping your kidneys healthy. So drink a lot of water.”

Ramazan is a Holy period, a period for self-reflection, a period for self-discipline. So, Meals should be modest, dignified appropriate.

As the Holy month of Ramazan is going with full joy and holiness. It’s also comes up with so many things to do.

“In this Holy month, the responsibilities and duties of women become so much hectic. They not only have to look for her home and children but also have to take care of their health and fitness.”Ahosewife Sumera Yousuf said.
