KARACHI: Counsel for the Edhi Foundation has filed a reply in family court to the plea filed by Chaudhry Iqbal seeking custody of Abdullah, reported Saturday.
As per details, the hearing of the case was adjoined until 15 while Abdullah will stay in Edhi’s custody until further directives.
Counsel for Faisal Edhi, son of Abdul Sattar Edhi who owns the welfare organisation maintained in the court that it was yet to be proved whether Iqbal was Abdullah’s father.
The counsel requested the court to order submission of marriage certificate and divorce papers. He further urged the court to order DNA tests of both the alleged father and son.
The court was also requested to inquire Iqbal about evidence of sending part of livelihood to ex-wife Haleema during her stay in Karachi.
The court ordered maternal uncle of the child to prove his relation in order for the case to proceed.
