AJK EC directs candidates to submit their detail of assets

MUZAFFARABAD: The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has asked the candidates contesting general election-2016 to submit the details of their assets in Election Commission before filing their nomination papers, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Election Commission clarified that according to article 47-B Election Ordinance any candidate found giving wrong information about his assets or concealing the detail of his original assets in such case he would be given seven years vigorous imprisonment or in shape of fine would be charged, besides, the property or the assets of the candidate would be seized as a whole or partially, in addition the candidate would be disqualified for ten years, EC added.

While breaching the code of conduct, the person would be given one year imprisonment or charged with the fine of rupees one hundred thousand or be given both punishments.
