Punjab CM orders to enhance subsidy on gram pulse, flour

LAHORE: On the instruction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the provincial government Wednesday decided to enhance subsidy on gram pulse and gram flour in Ramazan Bazaars and prices of these items would be  further reduced by Rs 10 in these bazaars.

This decision will be implemented in Ramazan bazaars throughout the province and gram pulse and gram flour will now be available at Rs 20 per kg below the market price.

The Chief Minister while issuing instructions to provincial cabinet committee on price control from London said that indiscriminate action should be continued against hoarders and profiteers and no one would be allowed to exploit the masses.

He said that all essential items should be available in abundance in Ramazan bazaars and no compromise would be made on their quality. He further directed that all possible steps should be taken for the provision of relief to the citizens. He said that people would directly benefit from decrease in the prices of gram pulse and gram flour, said a handout.
