ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Anwar Zaheer Jamali has constituted six benches at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday, June 6, 2016.
The first bench comprising Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Faisal Arab while the second bench consists of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.
The third bench would be consisted Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Tariq Pervez and the fourth bench would consist of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The fifth bench would be comprised of Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman while the sixth bench would be comprised of Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan.
The formation of benches would change on Tuesday (June 7) as the first bench would be comprised of Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab. The second bench would consist of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Tariq Pervez and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and the third bench comprised of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The fourt bench would be comprised of Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Maqbool Baqar and the fifth bench would consist of Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan.
During the week the benches would hear important cases including report submitted by Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, Govt. of Sindh, suo-moto action regarding allegations leveled against EOBI for payment of Rs 5 crore fee to various advocates to defend Ex-Chairman EOBI Zaffar Gondal, Constitutional Petitions Under Art. 184 regarding Environment Protection and Unnecessary Construction of Overhead Bridges in Karachi,
Constitutional Petitions Under Art. 184 for Declaring Privatisation of Karachi Electric as Unlawful filed by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan thr. its General Secretary & Others v. Federation of Pakistan thr. its Secretary, M/o Water & Power & Others, Action Taken by CJP regarding Tobacco Epidemic in Pakistan.
According to case lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court. Furthermore, if the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.
