Two killed in car bomb blast outside mosque in Damam Saudi Arabia

DAMAM: At least two person were killed in an car bomb blast outside a mosque in eastern Saudi Arabian city of Damam.

Reports on social media claim that a Shia Imam Hussein mosque in al-Damam, eastern Saudi Arabia, was targeted by a suicide bomber during Friday prayers.

Unconfirmed sources claim that three peopel have been killed, while five have been injured in the attack.  A Saudi social media report identified one of those killed as Abduljalil Juma was killed in the blast.

The blast took place at the parking lot near the  Imam al-Hussein Mosque in the Saudi city of Dammam. Unconfirmed reports claim that two women were involved in the attack and one of them blew up the car after failing to enter the mosque.

A Video posted on Twitter claims that the blast took place minutes after the Imam of the mosque started delivering the Friday sermon.

This would be the second time in less than a week a Shia mosque has been targeted.

The attack comes days after a suicide bomber targeted the Shia-Imam Ali Mosque in al-Qadeeh, a village located in Saudi Arabia’s eastern Qatif province, on 22 May.
