Abdul Rashid murder case: Musharraf declared proclaimed offender

ISLAMABAD: A local court has declare former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender today (Saturday) in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Islamabad (West) Parvaizul Qadir Memon had reserved the decision in this regard after hearing the arguments of both the sides on the last hearing.

During the hearing, Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Malik Tahir Mehmood argued on an application challenging non-bailable arrest warrants issued for his client in the case.

Mehmood questioned the prosecution’s insistence on appearance of the former military ruler before the court in the case.

He said since Musharraf was abroad for medical treatment, and as a pleader he was authorised to represent him in the case.

After hearing the arguments of all parties, the court had reserved its judgment which is announced on May 21.
