Met office warns of very hot weather conditions across country

ISLAMABAD:  Met office warned of a very hot and dry weather conditions during the current week across the country and said the central parts could touch a critical level of 50 centigrade.

Meanwhile, the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh would also be the centre of heat where day temperatures could cross over 45 C.

The temperatures in mountainous areas of Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir may also rise by 4 to 5 C above average and result into rapid melting of snow and glaciers.

The met office expect that very hot weather conditions would continue over plain areas of Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad divisions, Sibbi and  Makran divisions.

Weather remained dry in most parts of the country during the past 24 hours and same condition would prevail during the next 24 hours.

A low pressure area lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas. While continental air would prevail over most parts of the country during next few days.

 Following were Thursday’s highest temperatures: Larkana 52 C, Turbat, Jacobabad, Moenjodaro 51 C, Sukkur, Bahawalanagr, Rahim Yar Khan, Dadu 50 C, Rohri, Padidan, Bhakkar, Kot addu 49 C,  Shaheed Benazirabad, Khanpur, D.G Khan, Shorkot, Noorpurthal 48 C, Mithi, Hyderabad, D.I Khan, Kohat, Multan 47 C, Faisalabad 46 C, Lahore 45 C, Peshawar 44 C, Islamabad 41 C, Muzaffarabad 39 C, Karachi 38 C,  Quetta 37 C, Gilgit 35 C and Murree 30 C.
