SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt has been sent to a 14-day judicial remand by a court in Srinagar.
Masarrat Aalam Butt was produced before 1st Munsif Srinagar, who sent him to judicial custody till May 28. The Hurriyet leader is lodged in district jail Baramulla.
On April 9, a Srinagar court sent Masarrat Aalam Butt to 11 day-judicial remand. According to his party, Muslim League, court of third Munsif had bailed out Masarrat in FIR No 7/2010. He was shifted to Sub jail Baramulla after the order, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The spokesman had said that Masarrat’s health condition was also deteriorating due to poor facilities in jail.
Masarrat Aalam Butt is facing incarceration since 2010. He was released in March 2015 but only after 40 days he was again arrested.
