Car bombs claim above 88 lives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD:  At least three separate car bombings  in Bagdad claimed more than 88 lives, police and officials said.

The deadliest car bomb of the day exploded near a beauty salon in bustling market at rush hour in Baghdad’s Sadar City neighborhood, killing at least 63 people and wounding above hundreds.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack. Later on two more car bomb blasts rocked two other districts in Baghdad, killing at least 25 people in the Shia Muslim Kadhimiya district. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the later bombings. Death toll expected to rise.
