ISLAMABAD: The First-ever Asian Libraries Conference would be held in first week of September to promote book-reading culture and strengthen research-based academic work at higher education level.
The 2-day conference has been organised by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in collaboration with Asian Libraries Conference.
It is aimed at enhancing regional cooperation in respect of knowledge and resource sharing. The participants will exchange their expertise and experience to make the library a strong source of academic research.
According to an official, the AIOU has already upgraded its Central library as model one for the book’s lovers. AIOU has already decided to link its Central Library with modernized and automation system and now the university is providing best library facilities to the readers through online automatic digital system.
