ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties on Tuesday agreed on a draft of 15-point terms of references to investigate the Panama papers.
The opposition parties back down on the demand of immediate resignation of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan People’s Party, Awami Muslim Leaque and other parties participated in the meeting held at Aitzaz Ahsan’s residency.
All the participants were agreed to start the accountability with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family. They asked the PM to disclose his assets and sources of income.
The opposition demanded an independent, fully authorized, CJP-led commission to probe the Panama papers revelations. They suggested to complete the accountability process by an opposition-led parliamentary committee, if they government failed to form the commission.
