35 players named for fitness, training camp

Pakistan Cricket team’s chief selector Inzamam ul Haq has announced 35 players for Abbottabad Fitness and Training Boot Camp training camp ahead of tour of England.

Opener Ahmed Shehzad, middle order batsman Umar Akmal and all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi have been sidelined for the camp but they still can be considered on the bases of their performances in domestic cricket, chief selector said during the press conference at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters.

He further said selection committee will not make any compromise on the discipline.

Commenting on Waqar Younis, he said Waqar performed his duty well as a coach.

“I suggested the committee to rest Mohammad Irfan for England tour but he will be part of the camp,” he added.

Inzamam further said that young blood will be given chance during the tour of England.
