Dr Asim corruption case adjourned till May 06

KARACHI: An accountability court in Karachi adjourned hearing of corruption reference till May 06 – 2016 against former petroleum minister Dr. Asim Hussain and other accused persons.

The court adjourned the hearing following unavailability of deputy prosecutor and directed to ensure presence of all concerned persons in the Rs463 billion corruption case.

Dr. Asim pleaded the court to permit him for reaching the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassy as he wanted to sign some documents.

The court remarked that final verdict will be given on coming Tuesday over the plea after hearing stance of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and government’s lawyer.

During the hearing, the court provided copies of the case details to an accused Safdar Hussain while non-bailable arrest warrants were re-issued against two accused. The hearing was adjourned till May 06.
