ISLAMABAD, April 21 (APP): All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, terming the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s remarks on Kashmir as meaningless has said that Kashmir is an internationally-recognized dispute and a separate entity where people have been enslaved at gunpoint.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Held Srinagar said the slogan of the Indian prime minister, Insaaniyat (humanity), Jumhooriyat (democracy) and Kashmiriyat (composite Kashmir culture) is just a lip service as Kashmiris are being brutally killed, women assaulted, properties looted and torched and thousands of youth have been subjected to enforced disappearance, KMS reported.
“The voice and rights of the people of Kashmir cannot be muzzled and people would strive to fight for their rights till success,” he added.
Referring to the slogan of Kashmiriyat, he said, “Although we have
wonderful and unique religious, cultural and social traditions but calling Kashmir a mini-India is part of larger strategy to eliminate our unique identity.
India is hell-bent upon thrusting its culture on Kashmiri people to strengthen its illegal rule. The way India provided patronage to social evils like alcohol, drugs and waywardness under the garb of Kashmiriyat it is a deep-rooted conspiracy to create identity crisis in the valley.”
Syed Ali Gilani said that Kashmir was never a part of India, and in 1947, it captured Kashmir by its military might, without any moral or constitutional authority. The people of Kashmir never accepted Indian sovereignty in the last seven decades, he added.
Meanwhile, he expressed grief over the demise of the mothers of United Jihad Council (UJC) Vice Chairman, Muhammad Usman and Hurriyet leader, Ghulam Mohammad Nagoo.
