ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has emphasized on the need to step up efforts to improve the image of Pakistan in the wake of improved security situation and steady growth in economy.
The Adviser expressed these views during an interaction with the officers of Pakistan High Commission in UK and gave them an overview of the foreign policy of Pakistan, according to a message received here from London on Wednesday.
Sartaj Aziz, who visited the Pakistan High Commission London on Tuesday, was welcomed by Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, who introduced him with the officers.
The Advisor outlined the priorities of Pakistan foreign policy that included the country’s own security, non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs, economic revival and sustainable development, peaceful neighbourhood and turning Pakistan’s geo-strategic location into an asset.
Advisor Aziz stated that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was vital for the progress of Pakistan and the government was focused on its implementation.
The High Commissioner updated the Advisor on the working and initiatives of the High Commission, including improvement in Consular Services and community outreach.
The Advisor also responded to questions by the officers.
