FAISALABAD: A notorious dacoit wanted in dacoity cum murder cases was killed in an encounter with Nishatabad police last night on Monday.
On a tip off, a police party raided at Tubewala outhouse near Chak 26-JB. Seeing the police, the accused opened fire while the police in retaliation also resorted to fire, consquently, dacoit Bashir alias Sohna of Sherakot Lahore was killed while his five accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Police shifted the body to mortuary for postmortem and registered a case against the accused.
