KARACHI: In the latest addition to Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen party (PSP), provincial lawmaker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Ashfaq Mangi announced Monday that he is joining the former Karachi mayor and his group of MQM dissidents.

“We are not here to take power from anybody. We are here to transform lives of people and to establish peace. We are here to prevent people from becoming target killers and to strengthen Pakistan,” Kamal said.

Mangi received a warm welcome on his arrival at the Kamal House in Karachi.

Mangi was MQM’s Member of Provincial Assembly from PS-127 constituency of Sindh province. He was also a member of MQM’s central coordination committee.

Several other members of MQM’s provincial organising committee, too, announced to join hands with Kamal.

Several prominent names have joined Pak Sarzameen since Kamal returned to Karachi last month and announced the formation of the new party in a direct challenge to the MQM.
