ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan slammed Punjab government about the failed police operation against Chotu gang in Rajanpur district of the province.

In a message on social media site twitter, PTI chief said the professionalism of Punjab police has been compromised due to politicisation and the lack of use of merit when enrolling officers.

Imran went on to praise the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, saying it is free of political influence, is professional and competent as officers are selected on merit.

In contrast, he said politicisation and, what he called, the incompetence of the current police force in Punjab, is the reason behind the tragedy that has unfolded in Rajanpur.

As many as six cops have been killed and over 25 have been taken hostage by a gang of outlaws, called Chotu Gang, in the Kacha Jamal area of Rajanpur district in South Punjab.
