40 members of Chotu gang surrender unconditionally

RAJANPUR: Around 40 members of notorious Chotu gang surrendered unconditionally before launching of a grand operation by Pakistan Army in Kacha Area of Tehsil Rojhan Jamali on Friday afternoon.

The gangsters surrendered themselves at picket Yaroo area in Rojhan, police said. The law enforcement agencies were conducting operation Zarb-i-Ahan in Kacha area against the notorious Chotu gang for the last 18 days.

The law enforcement agencies have also regained control of 27 police pickets which were held by the gang members. DSP Headquarters Ijaz Ahmad told APP that Punjab Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera had sought help from

Pakistan Army for launching a grand operation against the Chotu gang, after the martyrdom of six police personnel including an SHO and 18 others, who were held hostage by the gang.

He said that gangsters were wanted by police in dacoity, ransom and other heinous crimes.

He informed that curfew had also been imposed from 6 pm Friday to 6 am in the area. He hoped that the forces would arrest the remaining 60 gangsters of Chotu gang and get police personnel free which were held hostage by the gang within next few hours.
