Curfew continues in Srinagar, Handwara, Kupwara

ISLAMABAD: Puppet authorities in Indian occupied Kashmir continue to impose curfew and other restrictions in Held Srinagar, Handwara and Kupwara on the third consecutive day.

Curfew was imposed to prevent people from staging protests against the recent killings of four innocent civilians by Indian Army personnel in Kupwara district, KMS reported.

Two youth, Mohammad Iqbal and Nayeem Qadir Butt, and an aged woman, .Raja Begum, were killed when the troops opened indiscriminate firing on the people who were protesting against the molestation of a girl by the troops in Handwara area of the district on Tuesday.

On more youth, Jahangir Ahmad Wani, was shot dead by the troops by firing upon a demonstration at Drugmulla in the district on Wednesday.

The puppet authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in all major towns of the territory to forestall the protests against the killings.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have given a call for peaceful protests across the territory after Juma prayers.

The puppet authorities have also put all Hurriyet leaders under house arrest or behind the bars to prevent them from visiting the families of the martyrs and expressing solidarity with them.

The authorities have also suspended the Mobile Internet service to stop people from sharing information about the situation in the territory.
