KARACHI: Administrator Karachi, Laiq Ahmed, has directed the officials of the Revenue Department to improve their performance within 10 days, which will be reviewed after the given period.
He said that the officer, who failed to improve his performance in the given period, will be removed from his post.
The Administrator said this while addressing a meeting of the officials of Finance and Revenue departments here, said a statement on Tuesday.
Laiq Ahmed said that Financial Management System of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), will be streamlined so as to improve the financial position of the KMC.
All unnecessary expenditures will be curtailed while any new project will be launched in consultation with the Finance Department, he stated.
The meeting held a detailed review of the recovery and expenditures of the KMC. The administrator said that budget proposals of the KMC should be based on facts and revenue targets should be set with the consultation of the heads of the concerned departments.
He observed that DMCs will pay the dues of those departments including local taxes, education and medical, which have been transferred to DMCs.
