KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate Faisal Rafique won Sindh Assembly seat PS-115 by securing 11,747 votes in the by-polls held on Thursday, according to unofficial results.
MQM leader Arshad Vohra had resigned from the provincial assembly seat for contesting local government elections.
Today, the by-election was held for the Sindh Assembly seat amid tight security in the constituency, where turn out remained less than 10 percent.
Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) stood runner up, bagging 1,740 votes. Meanwhile, vote count for National Assembly seat NA-245 is under way, where according to unofficial results of 46 polling stations, MQM candidate Muhammad Kamal is leading by securing 7,882 votes.
