Corps Commander Lahore calls on Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Corps Commander Lahore Lt. General Sadiq Ali called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here on Tuesday.

Overall situation of implementation on National Action Plan was discussed in the meeting. The meeting decided to make coordinated security mechanism and civil military joint coordination center, which was already working under National Action Plan, more effective.

The meeting stressed upon the need of coordinated and organized action against terrorism especially in the wake of recent suicide attack in Gulshan Iqbal Park.

Progress on the operations continuing throughout the province was reviewed in the meeting. Besides, decision was taken to continue action against terrorist networks and their facilitators through strong collaboration between Pak Army, Rangers, Counter Terrorism Department and police.

The meeting concluded with the determination of making the efforts against terrorism in Punjab more effective with the cooperation of all concerned.
