Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan said Shahid Afridi will not lead Pakistan team after World T20 in India.
Pakistan made a sparkling start to the tournament after defeating Bangladesh in convincing fashion but their loss against arch rivals India has given rise to new controversies.
The Pakistan cricket board is adamant that this World T20 is the last time Afridi will be captaining the team and his career is also about to come to a close despite the fact that Afridi indicated that he is under pressure to keep playing cricket after the World T20 ends.
Afridi’s statement regarding ‘love for India’ has clearly displeased the Board which is why they believe that it’s time for him to move on.
The PCB has also decided to change the head coach of Pakistan cricket team but the final decision is yet to be made regarding whether a local coach should be preferred or a foreign one.
