RIYADH: A suicide bomb blast in a mosque of eastern province of Saudi Arabia killed as many as 30 persons and scores others injured on Friday (today), Saudi authorities said.
Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry has confirmed the suicide blast and said the suicide attack occurred in the eastern province of Qatif.
Saudi media said that as many as 150 people were present in Jummah prayers at the mosque. Witnesses said that a suicide bomber blew him self up in the mosque during Friday prayers.
Al-Jazeera reported that the suicide blast reported in Imam Ali mosque of a village in Qatif province and it is stated to be Shia sect mosque.
