KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Balouch has said that the campaign to safeguard blasphemy law would continue and the Pakistani nation would foil any conspiracy to repeal blasphemy laws and any legislation, contrary to the principles of Islam.

He expressed these views on Wednesday while chairing a party meeting at the JI Karachi Headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq. He made it clear unprecedented resistance would be offered against any attempt to repeal the blasphemy laws.

Criticizing the ruling regime, he said that the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) led government has provoked the wrath of Allah Almighty while hanging Mumtaz Qadri and passing anti-Islam legislation. He said that the JI will not let the sacrifice of Qadri went in vein.

He praised the citizens of Karachi for their massive turn out in Tahafuz Namoos-e-Resalat march. He also hailed the role of social media in providing awareness to masses on the issue and congratulated JI Karachi leadership for holding such a big event.

The JI leader said that the honour of the Holy Prophet (SAW) is a matter of life and death to entire Muslim Umma. He demanded of the government to withdraw the controversial women act. He also demanded of the government to fulfill their promise of bringing back Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Earlier he was appraised by JI Karachi chief Naeem-ur-Rehman about the campaign in Karachi.
