Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said the women protection bill which was passed by Punjab assembly will not provide protection to women but it could end up destroying families.
Addressing to religious parties meeting at Mansoora, Siraj-ul-Haq said that women protection bill robbed rights from women and government was only trying to impress the west.
The bill may not decrease torture on women but it could destroy families, he concerned.
The Islamic council declared the bill against teachings of Islam, Siraj said and added that they doesn’t want to give the massage that religious clerics are against women.
JI Chief said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam with great sacrifices but now rulers of the country want to make in secular and liberal to make west happy.
He further said that JI has directed women wing to prepare a new bill for protection of women and present it in Punjab assembly.
