MQM-RAW links: FIA contacts Sarfaraz Merchant, Mustafa Kamal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s director Enam Ghani held a meeting with Sarfaraz Merchant in London where the intelligence head invited Merchant to visit Pakistan for submission of evidences against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

A major development was made in investigation into allegations against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and its supremo Altaf Hussain over having links with Indian prime intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), as Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials contacted Sarfaraz Merchant and Mustafa Kamal.

In his meeting with Sarfaraz Merchant, Enam Ghani asked him to submit evidences over MQM’s links with RAW before the investigation committee, sources closer to Interior Ministry said.

Meanwhile, FIA Sindh chapter head, Shahid Hayat Khan made telephonic contact with MQM’s disgruntled leader and former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal to set up a meeting which is expected within next 24 hours.

Khan also invited him to present evidences before the probe committee investigation into linkage between MQM and RAW which was consistently claimed by different leaders of the political party.

Earlier, both personalities had claimed to have evidences against MQM supremo Altaf Hussain and the political party having links with the Indian prime intel agency busy in carrying out anti-state activities across Pakistan especially in spreading disturbance in economic hub of Pakistan, Karachi.
