KARACHI: KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh has imposed ban on the purchase of luxuries items like LCD (TV), furniture, air-conditioner etc in order to bring austerity in expenditure, whereas the cases for relaxation of economy cut on non-development budget would not be considered.
Chairing a meeting of the finance department officers he stressed the need of decrease in the non-development expenditures so that financial condition could be improved, said a statement Friday. The meeting was attended by the financial adviser Muhammad Rehan Khan along with all directors and senior officers.
The KMC Administrator urged them to take essential measures for further improvement in the overall financial condition of the organization with the payment of employee’s salary and pension should be given preference.
Meanwhile Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh has through an order directed officers to take the following economic measures for maintaining strict financial discipline and to bring austerity in expenditure.
The supplies works through quotations are stopped immediately, in case of real emergency, prior approval of the Administrator, KMC should be obtained. The financial concurrence is hereby stopped.
All supplementary/salary bills/claims over Rs 250,000 or more than six months periods shall be submitted to the Administrator, KMC for approval before printing and payment.
The savings due to imposition of 40 per cent economy cut on development (including capital) budget should be surrendered. The cases for relaxation of economy cut on non-development budget should not be considered.
The cases for re-appropriation of funds from one budget head to other should be finalized before May 2016 and same should be submitted to the Administrator KMC through the Finance & Accounts Department, KMC. No new contract be awarded without the input of Finance and Accounts Department, KMC.
