KARACHI: Jamiat Ittehad-ul-Ulema (JIU), a platform of religious scholars and clarics, has said that the government hanged Mumtaz Qadri just to please the United States and the Western masters.

The JIU also announced to observe ‘Honor the Holy Prophet (SAW) Day’ on Friday (today), across the country. This was announced at a protest demonstration, held outside the Karachi Press Club on Thursday.

Addressing the protesters, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) deputy chief Asadullah Bhutto said that the funeral prayers of Mumtaz Qadri was a public referendum against the ruling regime. Nawaz Sharif led government has lost the right to rule over the masses as the government has become a symbol of hate.

He said that Qadri did nothing wrong and he produced the proof of his true love to his Holy Prophet (SAW).

Qazi Ahmed Noorani of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan in his address also lambasted the government for hanging a true lover of Muhammad (SAW). He expressed his sorrow and grief that media also accepted bars on the freedom of journalism and carried out a black out of the events regarding the hanging and funeral prayers of Mumtaz Qadri.

JIU Karachi president Molana Abdul Waheed said that the brutal judicial murder of Mumtaz Qadri has united Muslims of all sects.
