Council of Common Interests meeting underway

The 28th meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in progress in Islamabad.

The four provincial Chief Ministers are attending the meeting.

The meeting will discuss a number of issues including holding of national census and the status of its important decisions, taken during the previous meeting.

Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will brief the body on import of Liquefied Natural Gas.

The CCI’s agenda also includes formulation of National Flood Protection Plan-IV 2015-25. Besides, it will discuss pumping of drainage effluent, rationalisation of water distribution from Hub dam and early completion of RBOD-III.

The meeting will also consider Security and Exchange Commission Amendment Bill 2016.

Earlier, four Provincial Chief Ministers called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad prior to the meeting of Council of Common Interests.

The chief ministers discussed the problems faced by their respective provinces.
