ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Government has prohibited use of Sheesha/Hukka in cafes, clubs and public places like hotels, restaurants and parks with immediate effect till April 01, 2016 across the Punjab province.
According to a senior official of the Home Department, Government of Punjab, it has been reported that most of the managements of cafes are involved in providing the facilities of smoking of Sheesha and Hukka to teenagers boys and girls which are source of hazards erupting serious diseases, particularly destroying the future of young generation.
He said, to this effect, nuisance exists among the masses especially amongst the parents of teenagers boys and girls students, adding, there is strong apprehension that it may disturb public peace and tranquility.
The action has been taken under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1898, as an immediate prevention and speedy remedy in the matter, he added.
