DUBAI: Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi with big margin of 50 runs to reach Pakistan Super League (PSL) final where they will take on Quetta Gladiators.
Kamran Akmal smashed 45 runs off 32 balls to become top scoring batsman for his side while skipper Shahid Afridi hammered 38 off 17 balls; however, not a single batsman except them had managed to enter into double figure.
Imran Khalid took four wickets, Russell grabbed three while Irfan, Badree and Sami took one wicket each.
Islamabad United set 177-run target over loss of only two wickets against Peshawar Zalmi thanked to Sharjeel Khan’s 117 off 62 balls in ongoing crucial fight.
Shaun Tait was the only bowler who grabbed two wickets in the match.
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat first during the qualifying final match being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
