MARDAN: An attack was reported on anti polio team in Tambolak area of Mardan on Tuesday (today) while the assailant was killed in retaliation.
According to the details, the unidentified gunmen opened fire on the anti polio team in remote area of Mardan, Tambolak injuring a police personnel.
The police party deputed on security of polio team retaliated and killed the assailant. While fortunately the polio team remained unhurt in the attack.
The attacker’s body was shifted to nearby hospital where he identified to be Jehanzaib. While the police have started investigation into the attack.
It is pertinent to mention here that the anti polio drive is continued in 11 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
