NAB apprehends two accused persons on cheating public

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has arrested two accused persons on allegation of cheating public by introducing fake housing society ‘Lake Vista Residencia’.

According to a press release, Malik Muhammad Azam s/o Muhammad Khan and Khalid Shah s/o Nazakat Shah have been accused in cheating public through ‘Lake Vista Residencia’, located at Mouza Abdullah, Rawalpindi housing Scam.

After producing before the Accountability Court, Islamabad, all these accused persons are under physical remand with NAB Rawalpindi for further investigation.

The accused Malik Muhammad Azam escaped after collecting huge amounts from general public against the promise of giving them fully constructed houses in the said society.

NAB, Rawalpindi received 53 complaints so far, against accused Malik Muhammad Azam and others, who looted general public by introducing the housing scheme located at Adyala Road, Rawalpindi.

Accused persons attracted the general public by making undue commitments that the housing scheme consisted of 4000 kanal land and all facilities like swimming pools, gymnasium, parks, community center, Mosque and amusement parks are already established.

They claimed in the advertisement that 25% development work has already been completed and rest of the development work would be made in three years.

They also claimed that water supply and electric supply was available in the housing scheme. However, reality is totally different.
