SBCA prepares survey report about land grabbing in Surjani

KARACHI: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on Tuesday said that illegal sale, purchase and grabbing of amenity plots are underway in Surjani Town KDA Scheme 41 by land mafia.

In a statement, the SBCA pointed out that the plots which are reserved for parks, marriage halls, primary schools and public buildings are being illegally grabbed by land mafia.

The authority has warned the public not to take interest or join any activities regarding sale, purchase or booking of illegal plots.

The Director of Building Gadap Town has issued a survey report prepared about purpose of land in light of the Master Plan of state-owned land, on the directives of Director General SBCA.

As per survey report, ST plot no R-1, R-2, 26, 22, 20, 19, 16, 15, 14, 13, 8/2, 6/2, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4 and plot no R-5, L-12, L-9, L-8, A-30 and ST no 10 and 11 are reserved for parks, marriage hall, public building and primary school, are among the plots grabbed illegally by land mafia, it said.

Plot no LF-01, LF-02, ST-1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and ST 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20 and 21 are reserved for playground, high school, public building, primary school, commercial and residential purpose, are also grabbed illegally, the statement said.

The SBCA has clarified that the authority has not issued NOC or approval for the construction plan on these illegally grabbed plots, thus it is not responsible for construction on these plots.

The SBCA has directed the Project Director Surjani Town through a letter to take action against land grabbers while the police and utility services providing agencies are also informed not to provide connections on the illegally grabbed plot or land.
