ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed determination to transform the province into an abode of peace and justice.
While addressing the passing out parade of police officers at Sihala Police College in Islamabad on Monday (today), he said thana culture will be changed to ensure justice at the grass roots level.
The CM said the process to change the thana culture has already been started with induction of police officers in the department on merit.
Lauding the innumerable sacrifices rendered by the police officials in the war on terror, the Punjab Chief Minister said these will not go in vain and time will come when the country will be completely purged of the curse of terrorism.
He said the operation Zarb-e-Azb has caused a major blow to the terrorists. Besides the operation against terrorists, he said social and economic justice will be ensured in the society to address the root causes of terrorism.
On the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister announced an amount of two point five million rupees for those who imparted training to the newly inducted police officers.
