PSL: Quetta Gladiators grab eight-wicket victory against Karachi Kings

DUBAI: Strong opening partnership of Ahmed Shehzad’s 71 off 46 balls and Luke Wright’s 47 off 39 balls lifted Quetta Gladiators to chase handsome 148 runs target against Shoaib Malik-led Karachi Kings.

Shehzad and Wright built solid partnership of 92 runs on first wicket while Ahmed Shehzad played vital role for early chase for his side by cracking strokes against Kings’ bowling attack which managed to only two wickets. It is the second consecutive victory of Gladiators in the tournament.

Imad Wasim and Shakib Al Hasan were the only bowlers who grabbed two wickets each.

Earlier, Karachi Kings’ batsmen set handsome target of 148 runs against Sarfraz Ahmed-led Quetta Gladiators during fourth match of Pakistan Super League being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Ravi Bopara was top scorer from the Kings’ side who smashed 40 off 29 balls followed by skipper Shoaib Malik with 37 runs off 25 balls. James Vince also retaliated hard against solid bowling attack of the Gladiators that downed opening batting lineup after fall of Lendl Simmons 11 and sent off Nauman Anwar on duck.

Anwar Ali and Mohammad Nabi managed to grab two wickets each while Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket in the match. Gladiators had won the toss and elected to field first against Kings.
