Kashmir Day being observed today

FAISALABAD: The nation is observing Day of Solidarity with Kashmiris today to highlight their cause and the need for resolution of the longstanding dispute as per wishes of Kashmiri people.

The Days is observed on fifth February every year to highlight plight of people in the Occupied Kashmir and draw the world attention to its obligation to the UN sponsored plebiscite there.

The day started with special prayers in all mosques of the city for early freedom of the held Kashmir.

Quran Khawani will also be arranged where participants would offer Fateha for the martyrs of the Kashmir struggle.

Political parties and social organisations will also arrange a number of meetings, seminars and walks to highlight the day.

Kashmiri and Pakistani people living in and around New York will gather at the Pakistan House on Friday to show their solidarity and support to the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir struggling for their right to self-determination.

The event has been organized by the Consulate General of Pakistan to mark the annual Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Pakistan UN Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi will be the chief guest. Representatives of Kashmiri and Pakistani political parties will speak on the occasion.
